About us
GRegio Energie AG in Chur
GRegio Energie AG was founded in 2017 and is based at Rheinmühleweg 64 in Chur. We develop HTC plants, build biogas and wastewater plants and distribute wood gasification modules.

What we do
GRegio Energie AG specialises in
- development, planning, construction and service of HTC plants,
- distribution and planning of wood gasification plants,
- construction and commissioning of on-farm biogas plants with fixed-bed digester (GRegioflex) and of plants for industrial wastewater.
In every project we are your point of contact and contracting partner for the entire project.

Partners from research and the federal government
We work with universities and the federal government:
- ZHAW in Wädenswil: investigation of the HTC process in the laboratory and at pilot scale.
- Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE): pilot and demonstration project ‘HTC Innovationscampus Rheinmühle’ 2018 to 2020 and, since April 2024, funding of the Energiepark Grischa.
- University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons: partner in the Energiepark Grischa.

The Energiepark Grischa
The Energiepark Grischa is a joint project and not a company in its own right. It is located at the Rheinmühle in Chur and uses interactive stations to show how energy is generated from biomass, sun, water and wind. Development began in 2021 at the Rheinmühle with an HTC project. The project sponsor is the Klima GRischa Klimastiftung Graubünden foundation, together with project partners. Since April 2024, the Energiepark has been implemented together with the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR), and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) funds the project. Further partners are involved. The first stage, with the wood energy, solar energy and hydropower stations, opened with an industry event on 28 August 2025 and to the public on 30 August 2025. Stage 1.2, with the wind energy, biogas and HTC stations and the observational film “Das Leben einer Kuh” (“The Life of a Cow”), opened on 24 October 2026. Gina Parpan manages the park.
The “Biomasse” (biomass) station compares biogas and HTC and shows how organic residues become energy and new raw materials. Since the opening in August 2025, 24 visits, guided tours and events with a total of 1,008 visitors have taken place (as of 9 September 2026).
