Plants in operation and under construction

We show five GRegioflex plants on farms (one of them under construction), wood gasification modules, a wastewater plant at a cheese dairy and HTC projects with wastewater treatment plants. Status as of November 2026.

    Aeugstertal ZH

    50 kWe, two containers in a new timber barn. In operation since July 2025.

    Wastewater treatment with biogas recovery at a cheese dairy. In operation since 2022.

GRegioflex on farms

  • Aeugstertal ZH

    GRegioflex · 50 kWe · in operation since July 2025. Beef fattening with around 300 cattle and around 60 ha of agricultural land. Two digesters (40 ft), two gas storage units of 70 m³ each, connection to the existing heat network, energy management and automatic flushing system in the barn. Project name: ‘Leonardo’.

  • Illighausen TG

    GRegioflex · 20 kWe · in operation since July 2025. Young stock rearing with around 25 livestock units and agritourism.

  • Ermensee LU

    GRegioflex · 20 kWe · in operation since September 2024. Dairy and arable farm with 50 dairy cows. The heat supplies the farmhouse newly built in 2024.

  • Suhr AG

    GRegioflex · 2 × 20 kWe · in operation since January 2026. Arable farming with cattle and poultry fattening, plus agricultural contracting.

  • Samstagern ZH

    GRegioflex · 50 kWe · under construction, commissioning 2027. Calf fattening with around 100 livestock units, a large photovoltaic array and battery storage.

Wood gasification

  • Lindauer AG, Steinen SZ

    Wood gasification · 1 module, 50 kWe · in operation since 2025. A joinery that generates power and heat from its own residual wood during the six winter months. Also installed: a façade photovoltaic system and a 125 kWh storage unit.

  • VZ Kanalreinigung AG, Wangen SZ

    Wood gasification · 2 modules, 100 kWe combined, including drying.

  • Rheinmühle, Chur

    Wood gasification · 3 modules, 50 kWe each · currently being converted.

Industrial wastewater

  • Appenzeller Milchspezialitäten, Schönengrund AR

    Industrial wastewater · wastewater treatment with biogas recovery at a cheese dairy · heat for the company’s own production process · in operation since 2022.

HTC

  • Abwasserverband Buchs Sevelen Grabs SG

    HTC · pilot trials in February 2025, market analysis, assessment of a large-scale plant (‘Carbon Cascade’ project). The association treats 10 million litres of wastewater every day. Status: under assessment.

  • Pilot and demonstration project ‘HTC Innovationscampus Rheinmühle’

    HTC · Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), 2018 to 2020 · final report public.

  • HTC test plant

    HTC · pilot scale · 180 to 200 l/h, 180 to 200 °C, 20 bar · trials with sewage sludge from various Swiss wastewater treatment plants.
